But alas, a brother is a brother. An irritating, obnoxious, beloved brother. Variable factor: Ten is hiding the Time War from Brax. Brax knows about the Time War and he has a very good idea about Ten hiding it, so he's actually a bit offended that Ten is keeping all these secrets from him. So he thinks Ten is either a getting bit irritatingly secretive in his old age, or that there's something else he doesn't know about this that would make Ten clamp up like, well, a clam. And then he found out about the whole destroying-Gallifrey thing, and it made sense. Oddly, this didn't affect how he thought of Ten, except in explaining one of the more annoying traits that seemed to have come out this regeneration. But Brax has come to accept that every regeneration is annoying in its own special way.

I'm actually very amused that he was a bit offended because of the secret keeping! Pot calling the kettle black, some could argue. But as far as the secretiveness goes, he has closed himself off in some ways and become a bit secretive--but for good reasons, he feels; not like that seventh incarnation of his who had secrets and machinations up the wazoo. He's open about his emotional reactions to things, which I'm sure is just another one of those annoying traits Brax has found in this regeneration.
I'd be interested to see a talk between the two of them since Ten knows, too, that Nine spilled the beans about Gallifrey's destruction, but he doesn't know how much Brax knows and now that he's back to himself, he wants to find out--but at the same time, he just wants to continue feigning ignorance and pretend that his previous self was just talking nonsense. But you can bet if Nine hadn't swanned off, the very first thing Ten would've done was track Nine down and punch him in the face. (I do so love to reserve Ten's rare moments of physical altercations for special occasions.) But, uh, yeah. I think I'm just babbling now myself. >.>;

Lesson: Brax is a big fat hypocrite about secrecy.
Hypocrisy aside, it's not even that it's 'needless' that annoys him; I think he just really dislikes not knowing things, whether or not he should know them. A family trait, mayhaps. Irving will be waiting on the Doctor to decide what he will or won't talk about it, perhaps because he's about as incompetent at emotional things as dear little Thete. In fact, he's likely more incompetent.
